Brown Bag Talk: Two Centuries of Auburn Prison History

Aug 11th 2017 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM

Bring your lunch and learn some history in the Seward House Museum gardens! Although Judge Elijah Miller is often discussed on Seward House Museum tours, it is mostly in his capacity for building the original dwelling and raising Frances Miller Seward at 33 South Street. Yet he also played a role in the construction of Auburn Prison. Join Executive Director of the Cayuga Museum, Eileen McHugh, for a discussion of Miller’s other enduring legacy: more than two hundred years of history at Auburn Prison.
