Join us for our October First Friday event! We will be hosting bill berry, Karen Faris, and Berny Williford in our gardens. bill will share personal dynamics of being “mad” within the conceptual framework of race, culture, societal acceptance and trying to be human in 21st century America, Karen will be reading from her chapbook "The Death of Compassion", and Berny will bring rhythmic keyboard grooves to uplift your spirit!We will also be having art by Anne Lahr in our gift shop, refreshments, and two rooms open for interpretation. Join Tudor Place Historic House & Garden, home to six generations of the Peter family and located in Washington, DC, for a virtual presentation highlighting the history of the family, home, and enslaved and free people who lived and worked there from 1805 until 1983.

The Seward House Museum is pleased to announce the 2021 Elsa Soderberg Distinguished Speaker: Dorothy Wickenden. Wickenden is the Executive Editor of The New Yorker, in addition to author of The Agitators. This book explores how three extraordinary women changed history and advanced the cause of equality. United by roots in Auburn, the friendship between Harriet Tubman, Martha Coffin Wright, and Frances Seward led them together to "agitate" for abolition and women's rights.
