Seward's Folly at 150

Jun 25th 2017 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Historian Lee Farrow presents her new book, Seward's Folly: A New Look at the Alaska Purchase. Farrow’s work represents the first book-length examination of "Seward's Folly" in a generation. Blending her scholarly background in Russian history with an in-depth look at American motivations to acquire the Alaskan territories, Farrow puts the two sides together in an engaging narrative. As the world reflects on the sesquicentennial of Seward's eponymous folly, this book about its origins and legacy could not be timelier.

Farrow will sign copies of her book after the talk.

Lecture will be held at Theater Mack at the Cayuga Museum.
