Garden Party

Saturday, July 12, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This year, the Seward House Garden Party blooms with music as singer Deborah Anne Goss revives rousing anthems, heartfelt ballads and humorous ditties of the ante-bellum world. In addition, visitors can enjoy refreshments, children’s crafts and Victorian lawn games, along with self-guided tours through 15 historic rooms. Admission is free.

The Garden Party runs from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Musical performances are at 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Meet Charlotte Cushman: Considerable of a Woman.

Sunday, July 13. Call Auburn Public Theater for details.

Deborah Anne Goss appears as Boston-born actress Charlotte Cushman, the reigning superstar of the American and English stage for 30 years in the mid-19th century. Amazingly, Cushman maintained her proper New England respectability despite her propensity for performing male roles. Miss Cushman will appear in her public persona, sharing her fascinating history, friendships, philosophies and several songs – and perhaps revealing a few personal details for her 21st century audiences.

This event will be held at the Auburn Public Theater, located at 108 Genesee Street. Please call the Theater at (315) 253-6669 for performance details.
