Seward House Museum Library Carpet Production

The Seward House Museum is currently having a 1850's carpet reproduced for the museums library by Family Heir-Loom Weavers! The McLean pattern is based on the venerable surrender room carpet at Wilmer McLean's residence in Appomattox Court house and reproduced that from a painting at the site. The video showcases the carpet being weaved on a Hard Card Jacquard machine circa 1920 and a shuttle loom circa 1935. Also a big thank you to the William G. Pomeroy Foundation for funding this project. For more information on the William G. Pomeroy Foundation please visit their website at www.wgpfoundation.org
