Volunteer Opportunities
|
|
Seward House Museum offers a variety of opportunities for individuals interested in volunteering. Museum volunteers receive benefits in appreciation of the services they provide, including museum membership. Volunteer placement is made based on an individual's interests, experience, abilities, availability, and on current volunteer openings. Volunteers assist the Museum staff in the following capacities:
- Educational Program
Volunteers engage children and adults to make history come to life. As an Educational Program volunteer you will increase your knowledge of the Seward House Museum history and share your love of the past with others.
- Information Desk
Volunteers greet visitors in the Museum's foyer and orient visitors to the exhibits. Info desk volunteers also help visitors by answering a range of questions.
- Special Event
Volunteers assist staff at occasional daytime, evening and weekend programs and events. Volunteers greet guests, monitor program attendance, help serve refreshments, escort visitors, and perform other duties as needed.
- Teen volunteers
Volunteers gain valuable work experience as they help staff the Information Desk on Saturdays and during the summer. Teen volunteers also assist staff with education programs during the summer months.
